POMONA, N.J. -- It's been quite a start to her collegiate career for Caldwell University women's cross country freshman
Lizbeth Castillo (West New York, N.J.), who for the third time in as many starts in her rookie campaign emerged as the Cougars' #1 finisher, taking 55th in the 6K Stockton Osprey Open today.
Castillo completed the course in 26:07.58, good for 55th place among the 158 runners. Classmate
Ashley Mercado (Franklin Square, N.Y.) was 110th at 30:28.02, followed by soph
Ria Datta (Edison, N.J.) at 132nd at 36:01.11, freshman
Sarahi Liger (Kearny, N.J.) in 135th at 37:36.48, and
Michelle Martignoni Mercado, running her first race of the season, 147th at 47:06.89.
Overall, the Cougars were 14th of the 16 competing squads.
