John Rigas (Lincoln Park, NJ) and senior pitcher
Brandon Scalisi (New City, NY) have been named the 2025 Collegiate Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Baseball, the organization announced today.
Hopf, a Criminal Justice major, finished the semester with a 3.80 GPA. On the field, Hopf delivered a strong offensive season for the team with 17 runs, 22 hits, seven doubles, one home run and 14 RBIs, finishing with a .360 slugging percentage.
Rigas, an Accounting major, ended the semester with a 3.61 GPA and has received both CACC All-Academic team (2024) and CSC All-Academic team (2025) honors. On the mound this year, Rigas pitched 47.2 innings for the Cougars, recording a 6.80 ERA. He notched a season-high of 12 strikeouts and pitched a career-best of eight innings in a standout performance against Lincoln on April 23.
Scalisi, also a Criminal Justice major, concluded this semester with a 3.86 GPA. Scalisi was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for the third time and is a two-time CACC All-Academic Team honoree. He also earned CACC Pitcher of the Week honors on March 10th. He wrapped up the season with 56 innings pitched, a 6.59 ERA, with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. His 15 career wins rank tied for sixth in Caldwell history, and his 151 strikeouts place him 11th.
The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions- NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. The three cougars, along with the other academic all-District honorees, are now considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second, and third-team academic all-honors will be announced later this month.
