Lauren Marks (Parsippany, N.J.) averaged a team-high 22.2 pins/frame in Baker format as Caldwell bowling, seeded No. 1, defeated No. 4 Chestnut Hill, 2-0, on Friday at Pike Lanes.
The Cougars will take on No. 2 Wilmington in the winner's bracket on Saturday at 8:30 a.m., with the winner advancing to the Finals on Sunday, and the loser needing to works its way back to Sunday against Saturday's loser's bracket winner.
On Friday, Rumfield's 191 and junior
Yoana Hyman-Cruz (Edison, N.J.) (184) had the highest traditional game totals, followed by freshman
Alexandra Sardis (Milltown, N.J.) (179), sophomore
Samantha Glunk (Chatham, N.J.) (168) and Marks (161) as CU edged Chestnut Hill, 883-873.
Then in the Baker format, Marks anchored the 868-852 triumph. Sardis (16.67), Glunk (16.67), Rumfield (15.5) and Hyman-Cruz (15.3) contributed mightily.
Earlier, Marks collected her 2023-24 CACC Bowler of the Year award.
