NEW CASTLE, Del. -- Senior Lauren Marks (Parsippany, N.J.) averaged 210.6, including a high of 268 in her first game, as Caldwell bowling opened play at the Bud Whitman Memorial with two wins in five matches, good for the seventh best first-day pinfall among all competitors.

The Cougars defeated Molloy, 1003-798 and Alvernia, 889-881, for the day's two victories.

Sophomore Alexandra Sardis (Milltown, N.J.) was next for the Cougars at a consistent 173.6, with a high game of 192. Junior Samantha Glunk (Chatham, N.J.) averaged 185 over four games, soph Allie Rumfield (Phillipsburg, N.J.) went for 172 over four games, and junior Yoana Hyman-Cruz (Edison, N.J.) (158.7 in three games), senior Sydney Tabor (Delran, N.J.) (172.5 in two) and freshman Faith Perrin (Brick Twp., N.J.) (160.5 in two) also contributed.
