NEW CASTLE, Del. -- The first day of competition is in the books at the Bud Whitman Memorial bowling tournament at Bowlerama. The defending CACC Champion Caldwell squad got off to a fast start, upending host Chestnut Hill, 912- 679 in winning one of four matches on the day.
Senior
Lauren Marks (Parsippany, N.J.) led the Cougars with a 190 average, topping out at 201. Freshman
Alexandra Sardis (Milltown, N.J.) made a great first impression, matching Marks' 201 as high score of the day and averaging 185. Her classmate
Allie Rumfield (Phillipsburg, N.J.) also had a fine start, averaging 171.7 in her first collegiate meet.
Caldwell continues play in the event on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.
