GWYNN OAKS, Md.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team posted a 3-2 record and finished in sixth place following day one of the Lady Eagles Classic hosted by Coppin State University.
The Cougars fell to Kutztown University in their opening match 834-710. Caldwell defeated Bryant University 820-756 but fell to Bloomfield College 875-787. The Cougars closed out the day with two wins as they defeated Saint Anselm College 766-661 and Norfolk State University 945-77. Caldwell ended day one in sixth place with a 3-2 record and a total pinfall of 4,028.
Sophomore
Hayley Vesek (Dallas, Pa.) was the top performer on day one with a five-round traditional average of 175.6 with a high game of 201. Graduate
Victoria Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) posted a five-round traditional average of 164.4 with a high round of 217. Junior
Lauren Marks (Parsippany, N.J.) finished with a five-round traditional average of 163.4 with a high game of 195, while senior
Rhianna Smith (Mt Olive, N.J.) averaged 160.8 in five rounds with a high round of 191.
The Cougars conclude play at the Lady Eagles Invitational hosted by Coppin State University on Sunday, November 20. Caldwell will compete in two baker rounds to start the day with the tournament moving to a two-round baker best 4-of-7 bracket format to close out the tournament.
