LAKEWOOD N.J.- The Caldwell University men's track and field team returned to action for the first time in two years as they competed at the Georgian Court University Invitational in their 2021 season opening meet.
Freshman
Kyle Kuren (Woodland Park, N.J.) turned in a standout performance in his first collegiate meet as he set the school record in the hammer throw with a distance of 28.91, taking fifth place.
Sophomore
Desmond Marfo (Irvington, N.J.) took sixth place in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:45.89. Marfo also placed eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.42.
Freshman
Chad Manning (Belleville, N.J.) finished in third in the 400-meter with a time of 52.27, while placing fifth in the 800-meter with a time of 2:08.56.
Sophomore
Anthony Gola (Nutley, N.J.) placed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.89.
Senior
Jared Dockett (Bloomfield, N.J.) came in seventh place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.22.
Senior
Denis Gray (Kingston, Jamaica) took third place in the long jump with a distance of 6.50 meters.
Sophomore
Devin Males (North Arlington, N.J.) finished in fourth place in the long jump with a distance of 6.16 meters.
Freshman
Ervin Chaush (Wallington, N.J.) took second place in the discus with a throw of 39.92 meters, while taking fourth place in the javelin with a distance of 34.18 meters.
The Cougars return to action as they compete in the Stockton University Invitational on Friday, April 16.
