HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team posted two wins, including over nationally ranked Sam Houston State University, as the Cougars competed on the opening day of the Hawk Flight Invitational hosted by Monmouth University.
The Cougars won their opening match of the day as they defeated LIU 976-902. Caldwell dropped a close match to Wilmington University 1,091-1,031 and fell to St. Francis College Brooklyn 942-869. The Cougars came up short to host Monmouth 955-877. Caldwell ended the opening day on a high note as they edged nationally ranked #2 Sam Houston 1,059-1,054.
Sophomore
Jenna Rapach (Hazleton, Pa.) posted a team-best 20.64 baker average, while freshman
Jessica Fetik (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished with a 21.26 baker average in 23 frames.
Sophomore
Victoria Vucak (Garfield, N.J.) posted a 19.37 average, while junior
Gabriella Pangaro (Clifton, N.J.) finished with an 18.51 baker average. Junior
Madison Perry (Hawthorne, N.J.) rounded out the top performers on day one with an 18.45 average.
The Cougars return to action for day two of the Hawk Flight Invitational hosted by Monmouth on Saturday, February 29.
