PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University softball senior
Marisa Monasseri (Monroe, N.J.) recorded her 200th career hit as the Cougars swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference against USciences. The Cougars took the opener 7-1 and cruised in the nightcap 13-0 in five innings.

The Cougars improve to 17-13 and 11-1 in the CACC, while the Devils fall to 8-22 and 5-11 in conference play.

The Devils took the lead in the first inning of game one with a run. Caldwell rallied back in the second as they took the lead with two runs. Freshman
Kaileen Cain (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and junior
Carly Testa (Sicklerville, N.J.) singled to start the inning. Cain scored on an error to tie the game, while freshman
Anyssia Ramirez (Brentwood, Calif.) single to score Testa for a 2-1 lead.

Caldwell added to their lead in the fifth as they loaded the bases with two outs. Ramirez came up with a key hit as she drove in two runs with single. Sophomore
Melissa Rini (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) added a two-run single as the Cougars pushed their lead to 6-1. Ramirez again had the key hit in the sixth as she doubled in a run to finish 3-for-4 with four RBI in the opener. Rini was 3-for-5 with two RBI.

Sara Bearden (Ewing, N.J.) improved to 9-6 on the season as she allowed one run on four hits with 10 strikeouts in a complete game effort.

Caldwell broke the nightcap open with 12 runs over the first two innings. Freshman
Maya Rodriguez (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) singled in one run, while freshman
Paige Sandoval (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) drove in three with a double.

The Cougars added eight runs in the second inning as Caldwell loaded the bases. Testa singled in one run, while Sandoval and Ramirez drew walks to force in two runs. Sophomore
Daniela Solis (Wilmington, Del.) singled in one run, while senior
Kiahna Silva (Etiwanda, Calif.) cleared the bases with a three-run double. Caldwell added a run in the fifth as senior
Katelyn Johnson (Denville, N.J.) drew a bases loaded walk.
