Women’s Basketball Preview: N#2 Cougars Face S#1 USciences in CACC Championship Semifinals on Saturday at Noon

Overview
The North #2 Caldwell University women's basketball team faces South #1 USciences in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Semifinals on Saturday, March 3 at 12 pm. The CACC Championship Final Four is hosted by Jefferson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Caldwell enters the game with a record of 25-4 and finished in second place in the CACC North Division with a 16-3 record in the conference. USciences has a record of 26-3 and won the South Division with a 17-2 record in CACC play.

Ticket Information
Admission fee is $6 adults, $3 students with ID, seniors and children. Children under 3 will be admitted for free.
 
Last Time Out
The Cougars fell to USciences 66-56 on January 27 in the teams' lone match-up of the season. Senior Karlie O'Driscoll (Sharon, Mass.) led the way with 17 points along with four rebounds. Sophomore Tina Lebron (Manalapan, N.J.) shot 3-for-6 from downtown to finish with 11 points. For the Devils, Alex Thomas scored 16 points, while Sarah Abbonizio and Jordan Vitelli each netted 15 points.  
 
Scouting the Cougars (25-4, 16-3 CACC)
The Cougars cruised past Chestnut Hill College on Tuesday night in the CACC Quarterfinals. The Cougars had six players finish in double figures in scoring with Lebron leading the way with 24 points. Senior Kristen Drogsler (Middle Village, N.Y.) tallied 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals, while senior Sharell Sanders (Dorchester, Mass.) totaled 15 points, three boards and four assists. O'Driscoll posted 15 points and seven rebounds. Drogsler leads the team this season with 15.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.7 steals per game. She is second on the team with 58 three-pointers. Sanders is chipping in 11.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.9 steals per contest. O'Driscoll is posting 10.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while senior Maura Kelty (Barrington, R.I.) is averaging 9.8 points and leads the team with 6.8 rebounds per contest. Lebron leads the Cougars with 69 triples this season.
 
Scouting the Devils (26-3, 17-2 CACC)
The Devils defeated Felician University 58-41 in the CACC Championship Quarterfinals on Tuesday night. Colleen Walsh led the Devils with 31 points in the game. Abbonizio leads the team with 15.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game. She is fourth on the team with 51 three-pointers. Thomas is posting 15.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest and is tied for second on the team with 58 triples. Vitelli is chipping in 10.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, while leading the team with 67 three-pointers. Walsh is averaging 8.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest and is tied for second on the team with 58 three-pointers.
 
CACC Round Up
Drogsler ranks fourth in the CACC in scoring, fifth in assists and third in steals. Sanders ranks second in the conference in assists and steals. Junior Kristen Siscamanis (Winthrop, Mass.) ranks third in the CACC in field goal percentage at 51.1%, while O'Driscoll is fourth in field goal percentage at 50.0%.

The winner of this semifinal match up will advance to the CACC Championship Final on Sunday, March 4 at 12:00 pm where they will face the winner of the Jefferson-Bloomfield game.
