READING, Pa.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team kicked off the Golden Bear Classic with a pair of baker format wins on day one.
The Cougars opened the tournament with a 959-841 loss to Morgan St. University. Caldwell picked up their first win of the weekend as they defeated Felician University 888-774.
Caldwell came up short in their third match of the day as they fell to Duquesne University 916-872. The Cougars picked up their second win as they powered past Roberts Wesleyan University 895-728. Caldwell came up short in their final match of Day 1 as they were edged by host Kutztown University 832-819.
Sophomore
Amanda Scharf (North Brunswick, N.J.) led the Cougars with a 19.10 baker average, while sophomore
Jamie Lee Kulaga (West Hazelton, Pa.) posted an 18.46 average. Junior
Daniele Roca (Garden City Park, N.Y.) recorded a baker average of 18.00 for Caldwell.
The Cougars are back in action for Day 2 of the Golden Bear Classic on Saturday, February 11 in Reading, Pennsylvania.
