READING, Pa.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team opened the 2017-18 season with three wins on day one of the Bud Whitman Classic hosted by Kutztown University.
Caldwell won their opening match of the tournament with an 851-777 win over Roberts Wesleyan College. The Cougars came up short in their next two baker matches with a 919-872 loss to host Kutztown and a 938-894 loss to Delaware St. University. Caldwell finished the first day on a positive note as they edged Chestnut Hill College 939-932 and downed Felician University 866-815 to close out the first day.
Junior
Jamie Lee Kulaga (West Hazelton, Pa.) led the Cougars with an 18.66 baker average with 896 total pins. Senior
Daniele Roca (Garden City Park, N.Y.) posted an 18.18 average with a total pin fall of 891. Junior
Amanda Scharf (North Brunswick, N.J.) finished with a 17.16 average and totaled 841 pins. Freshman
Deanne Murray (McMurray, Pa.) turned in a solid first collegiate outing with a 17.59 average and 475 pins.
The Cougars wrap up play at the Bud Whitman Memorial on Sunday, October 15.
