HOWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team wrapped up their season at the Northeast Conference Championships on Friday. The Cougars posted an opening round victory against Fairleigh Dickinson University in a best-of-7 match play double elimination format. Caldwell fell in their ensuing two matches to LIU Brooklyn and St. Francis Brooklyn.
Caldwell entered the championships as the #6 seed and faced #3 seed FDU in the opening round of the tournament. The Cougars swept the Knights 4-0 as they won 209-177, 193-188, 193-171 and 169-166 to advance to the winner's bracket match.
In the winner's bracket match, the Cougars faced #4 seed LIU Brooklyn. The teams split the first two matches as the Blackbirds took the first game 223-192, while Caldwell evened with a 183-181 win. LIU Brooklyn took the next three games 179-169, 179-172 and 224-171.
Caldwell moved to the elimination round where they faced #5 seed St. Francis Brooklyn with the winner advancing to the final four. The Terriers took the first two games 189-180 and 183-155. The Cougars bounced back to take the third game 191-166 but fell short in the final two games 180-177 and 219-177.

Amanda Scharf (North Brunswick, NJ) was named to the NEC All-Rookie Team for an outstanding season for the Cougars.
