ALLENTON, Pa.- Sophomore
Daniele Roca (Garden City Park, NY) earned women's bowling all-tournament honors on Day One of the Kutztown University Allentown Tournament. Roca came in second play in traditional play to help lead the Caldwell University women's bowling team to a 3-2 record as they returned to play in 2016.
The Cougars won their first two matches of the tournament as they defeated St. Francis University 936-854 and St. Peter's College 997-724. Caldwell fell in their third match to host Kutztown 919-815 but earned their third win with a 906-874 triumph against St. Peter's. The Cougars wrapped up play with a 929-764 loss to Kutztown.
Roca posted a tremendous first day as she posted a five-round totaled of 965. She fell 19 pins short of the top spot but earned all-tournament honors for a second place finish. She bowled a high round of 250.
Freshman
Emily McLaughlin (Seaford, NY) came in ninth place as she bowled a 905 with a high round of 200. Freshman
Amanda Scharf (North Brunswick, NJ) came in tenth in place with a score of 889. She bowled a high round of 204. Junior
Natalie Pedri (Staten Island, NY) rounded out the top finishers as she posted a five-round total of 779 with a high score of 166.
The Cougars conclude play at the Kutztown University Allentown Tournament on Sunday, February 7.
