ELMWOOD PARK, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's bowling team opened the Fairleigh Dickinson University Jamboree with a pair of baker format wins on day one of the three-day weekend tournament. The Cougars season record moves to 12-8.
The Cougars opened the tournament on a positive note as they defeated Jackson State University 858-788. Caldwell fell in their next three baker matches, losing to Saint Peter's University 925-798.
The Cougars came up short to North Carolina A&T State University 895-855 and fell to Bethune Cookman University 863-831. Caldwell ended the first day with a win as they had a come from behind 10th frame win against the University of Wisconsin Whitewater 932-913.
Junior
Daniele Roca (Garden City Park, N.Y.) was the top Cougars performer as she posted a baker frame average of 19.65. Sophomore
Amanda Scharf (North Brunswick, N.J.) was next with a baker average of 17.20, while sophomore
Jamie Lee Kulaga (West Hazelton, Pa.) had a 16.65 baker average. Sophomore
Alexis Policastro (Carteret, N.J.) rounded out the top performers with a 16.02 average.
The Cougars continue play on Saturday, October 29 as they compete in day two of the FDU Jamboree.
