Box Score
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Caldwell College women's basketball team fell to Goldey-Beacom College, 77-64 in the semifinals of the ECAC Division II Tournament Saturday afternoon in Fairfield University's Alumni Hall. The Cougars complete their season with a record of 18-12, while the Lightning improves to 15-14.

Caldwell built a 15-11 lead over the first eight minutes of the game before Goldey-Beacom used a 13-2 run to pull in front, 24-17 with 7:33 left in the half. A three from junior guard Morgan Thompson (Neptune, NJ/Neptune) and two free throws by junior forward Emily Caswell (Wakefield, RI/Prout School) made it a two-point game, 24-22. But the Lightning closed out the half with an 8-5 run for a 32-27 advantage at the half.

In the second half, a pair of three-pointers from Lillian Chukwueze and another by Taylor Leonard helped Goldey-Beacom push the lead to 17, 52-35 with just over 13 minutes to play. Chukwueze drained two more threes, as the Lightning led 62-44 with 10 minutes to play. Caldwell used a 13-2 run to cut the deficit to nine, 66-57 at the six-minute mark. Caswell had seven points and senior forward Jeanette Anderson (Lynn, MA/Lynn English) scored six in the run. But the Cougars did not get closer than that, as Goldey-Beacom advances to Sunday's championship game.

Caswell led Caldwell with 27 points, while Anderson added 15 points and 12 rebounds for her 16th double-double of the season. Chukwueze led all players with 34 points and 13 rebounds for Goldey-Beacom.

The result marked the end of an outstanding career for Anderson, who was named the Daktronics East Region and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year this season. Anderson finishes her career with 1,831 points and 1,131 rebounds to rank fifth and third all-time at Caldwell, respectively. She is the Cougars' all-time leader in career field goal percentage at .503. Also playing her final collegiate game was senior guard Marielle Duryea (Middle Village, NY/Archbishop Molloy).
