MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Caldwell College baseball team played a pair of games at the Northeast Challenge, falling to Franklin Pierce University, 7-2 and to Stonehill College, 8-0 Friday night at the Ripken Experience. The Cougars are now 0-3 on the season.
Against Franklin Pierce, the Ravens scored twice in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the third, a grounder by senior

Thomas Pisano (N. Bellmore, NY/Mepham) doubled to score senior
Paul Nyitray (Cranford, NJ/St. Joseph) from first to tie the score at 2-2. But Franklin Pierce scored three times in the fifth and two more runs in the seventh for a 7-2 advantage.

In the game against Stonehill, the Cougar bats were unable to generate any runs despite recording eight hits. In the top of the third, sophomore
Alex Rodriguez (Merrick, NY/Calhoun), Nunez and O'Donnell each singled to load the bases with two out, but Caldwell was unable to get the clutch hit. The Cougars also stranded two runners in both the fifth and seventh innings. Nunez and Luczaj each had two hits in the game. Junior pitcher
