NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Caldwell University bowling team competed for the first time today at the Fairleigh Dickinson Jamboree, held at Carolier Lanes. The Cougars played matches against Virginia State, Sam Houston State, Bethune-Cookman, North Carolina A&T and Valparaiso on the first day of the three-day tournament.
Leading the Cougars was freshman
Daniele Roca (Garden City Park, NY/New Hyde Park Mem.) with a total of 812 pins in five matches. Freshman
Kellie Ehrmann (Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.) was next with 740 pins, followed by freshmen
Vanessa Mantione (Matawan, NJ/Bishop Ahr),
Deborah Andrews (Lindenwold, NJ/Lindenwold) and
Natalie Pedri (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by the Sea). Sam Houston State, the defending NCAA champions, is leading the tournament after Day 1.
The Cougars, coached by
Ken Yokobosky, continue play at the 26-team Jamboree with six more matches on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Carolier Lanes.
