FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Caldwell College baseball team lost a non-conference game to Queens College, 7-1 Sunday afternoon at Ray Metski Field. The result drops the Cougars to 7-18 overall, while the Knights improve to 9-15.

Paul Nyitray (Cranford, NJ/St. Joseph). But the Knights pushed four runs across in the bottom of the eighth, then retired Caldwell in order in the ninth to clinch the victory.

Chris DeRogatis (North Arlington, NJ/Queen of Peace) started for the Cougars, allowing one run on three hits in 4 2/3 innings. Queens starter Peter Cappiello worked 7 1/3 innings and earned the win, while Jared Mancini tossed 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the save.
Caldwell plays a non-conference game at Pace University on Thursday, Apr. 11, beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Pleasantville, N.Y.
