LANTANA, Fla. – The Caldwell College baseball team lost a pair of non-conference games to Nova Southeastern, 4-1 and St. Michael's College, 17-4 as a part of the Palm Beach Challenge Sunday afternoon at the Santaluces Sports Complex. The Cougars are now 1-3 on the season.
Against Nova Southeastern, Caldwell gave up two runs in the first inning and single runs in the second and fifth innings to fall behind, 4-0. Sophomore
Jack Joyce (Bayside, NY/St. Mary's) hit a double in the eighth inning that brought home senior
Anthony Morena (Westbury, NY/Holy Cross) to make the score 4-1. But the Cougars were unable to rally despite a lead-off single by junior
Andrew Nunez (East Elmhurst, NY/Cardozo) in the ninth.
Sophomore
Michael Sheridan (Caldwell, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) started and gave up four runs, three earned, on nine hits in six innings.
The Cougars surrendered five runs in two separate innings against St. Michael's in the 17-4 defeat. Nunez, freshman

Peter Scianna (Chicago, IL/St. Mary's) and junior
Thomas Pisano (N. Bellmore, NY/Mepham) drove in runs for Caldwell, while Nunez and junior
Tom Todaro (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) delivered two hits apiece.
The Cougars continue play at the Palm Beach Challenge with two games on Monday, Mar. 11. Caldwell faces St. Michael's again at 10:00 a.m. and plays Florida Memorial at 1:30 p.m. in Lantana, Fla.
