FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Caldwell College men's soccer team lost a non-conference game to Queens College, 4-1 Thursday afternoon at Knights Soccer Field. The result gives the Cougars a 5-8-1 record on the season, while the Knights improve to 7-4-3.
Queens got off to a quick start, as Paul Sandoval and Danny Stoker scored in the first nine minutes of the game for a 2-0 lead. The score remained 2-0 into the second half until sophomore forward Dylan Ross (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) found the net in the 50th minute. The Knights added a late insurance goal by Glen Reid in the 81st minute, then Stoker converted a penalty kick in the 84th minute to close out the scoring.
Senior goalkeeper Brian Agostini (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) made eight saves for Caldwell, while Sean Geoghegan had one save for Queens, which out-shot the Cougars 20-5.
The Cougars host Wilmington University on Saturday, Oct. 20 in a key CACC game. Kick-off is set for 2:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
