PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Caldwell College men's soccer team overcame a persistent squad from Chestnut Hill College to prevail 3-2 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Saturday afternoon at Victory Field. The Cougars even their conference record at 2-2 while improving to 5-4-1 overall on the season. The Griffins fall to 4-5-1, 3-3 CACC with the loss.

The two teams combined to score four goals in the game's first 15 minutes, with freshman defender Arben Cosovic (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) heading home a corner kick from sophomore midfielder Kristopher Bistre (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) just 3:23 after the kick-off. The Griffins tied the game with a goal by Darryl Richardson in the 10th minute. Bistre helped the Cougars regain the lead by setting up the first career goal of freshman Evan Teitelbaum (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel), whose shot from long distance eluded goalkeeper Mike Goldstein in the 11th minute for a 2-1 Caldwell advantage. But again the Griffins came back quickly to tie the score, with Bobby Stocklin scoring in the 15th minute.

The game remained deadlocked at 2-2 until the 57th minute. Junior forward Facundo Zalazar (Buenos Aires City, Argentina/San Agustin) headed in a cross from Teitelbaum (right) to put the Cougars ahead for good. The goal is Zalazar's team-leading second game-winner of the season.

Junior goalkeeper Brian Agostini (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) notched two saves in the win, while Goldstein finished with five saves for the Griffins.

The Cougars host Goldey-Beacom College in a CACC match on Monday, Oct. 3, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
