WILMINGTON, Del. - Seniors Chad Bennett (Kingston, Jamaica/Campion) and Kevoi Walters (Clarendon, Jamaica/Clarendon) each scored a pair of second-half goals to lead the Caldwell College men's soccer team to a 6-0 victory over Goldey-Beacom College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon at Sawin Field. The win snaps a two-game losing skid for the Cougars, who are now 7-5 overall and 4-1 in the conference. The Lightning, who have lost six in a row, fall to 1-8, 0-3 CACC.

Senior forward Luis Sartorio (Asuncion, Paraguay/St. Benedict's Prep) scored what would be the only goal of the first half less than nine minutes into the game to put Caldwell on top 1-0. The Cougars extended their lead in the 58th minute, when freshman forward Jonathan Costa (Mississauga, Ontario/Philip Pocock) headed home a free kick off the foot of sophomore midfielder Eirik Utheim (Trondheim, Norway/KVT). Bennett, pictured, scored his first goal of the game on a breakaway in the 62nd minute for a 3-0 advantage. Less than six minutes later, Bennett placed a shot into the upper corner of the goal for his team-leading eighth goal of the season.

Walters made the score 5-0 when he converted a penalty kick in the 69th minute. He then notched his second goal of the game and fourth of the season after heading a cross from sophomore midfielder Bryan Broderick (West Keansburg, NJ/Raritan) into the back of the net in the 74th minute. Senior goalkeeper John Plaugic (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) made three saves in goal for his second shutout of the season. Garret Shuler recorded seven saves for the Lightning.

The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 8, with a non-conference game at C.W. Post University. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
