CALDWELL, N.J. -- Caldwell University first-year women's soccer coach Kate Pellegrino today announced the squad's 18-game regular season schedule, opening at American International College on August 28. After a two-game road trip to start the season, the Cougars return home for their Caldwell Athletic Field opener on Sept. 3 vs. Pace University.
The Cougars are also set to play home games against CACC rivals Thomas Jefferson University (9/19), Goldey-Beacom College (9/26), Post University (9/30), Holy Family University (10/10) and Georgian Court University (10/28), for a total of five home rival games on the season. They additionally host non-league contests vs. Molloy University (9/5), College of Staten Island (9/12) and Monroe College (10/6).
Pellegrino's team will also travel to CACC adversaries Wilmington University (9/16), University of Bridgeport (9/22), Lincoln University (10/2), Felician University (10/14), Dominican University (10/20) and Chestnut Hill College (10/24) in addition to non-league away contests Queens College (8/30) and Assumption University (9/9).
The top eight teams in the CACC will advance to the CACC Tournament. The #1 through #4 seeds host quarterfinal matches on Nov. 1, with those winners advancing to the semifinals, also at their home site, on Nov. 4, followed by the finals at Post University on Nov. 7. Last season, the Cougars finished 13-3-4, 8-1-2 in CACC play, good for the No. 2 seed entering the tournament. Caldwell dropped a tough 2-0 decision to Wilmington in the CACC Championship game.
