Caldwell University Women’s Soccer Coach Sammy Adjei Announces Resignation

Three-Year Cougar Mentor Accepts Head Coach Position at Division I Saint Peter’s

CALDWELL, N.J. – Caldwell University head women's soccer coach Sammy Adjei has resigned, it was announced today by Mark A. Corino, assistant vice president and director of athletics. Adjei, the Central Atlantic Athletic Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer Coach of the Year in 2025, has accepted the head women's soccer coaching position at NCAA Division I Saint Peter's University.

Adjei led the Cougars to the best record by percentage in school history last year with a 13-3-4 mark and second consecutive trip to the CACC Women's Soccer Championship Game. The Cougars were 32-12-11, including a 22-4-7 record in CACC contests, during Adjei's three years at the helm. He coached the league's Player of the Year in 2024 (Taina Gervais) and Goalkeeper of the Year in 2025 (Ariana Gaminara) as well as numerous All-Conference, Academic All-CACC and CSC Academic All-District performers.

Prior to his arrival at Caldwell, Adjei served as the head coach of former local CACC rival Bloomfield College's women's soccer program from April 2020 through March 2023. In the fall 2022 season, he led Bloomfield to its second-best record in program history since 2005.

"Caldwell will always hold a special place in my heart," said Adjei. "I'm incredibly grateful to our student-athletes, coaching staff, athletic department, and university leadership for their support of me and our program."

"While we are saddened by Sammy's departure, we are excited for his opportunity," added Corino. "He is personable and driven as a coach and administrator, and I'm confident he'll be successful at Saint Peter's in producing not only winning soccer but quality student-athletes."

The search for the next Caldwell University head women's soccer coach is underway.
