WILMINGTON, Del. — Senior guard
Melvin Evans (Bronx, N. Y.) and senior forward
DeAngelo Horn tallied 20 points each, but Caldwell fell to Goldey-Beacom, 90-78, in a CACC men's basketball contest at Joseph West Jones Center on Saturday.
Caldwell led, 43-41, at halftime and after the hosts took a three point lead, trailed by just a point at 57-57 when freshman forward
Terence Thompson (Rochester, N.Y.) dunked with 14:18 to play.
But GBC (13-6, 7-4 CACC) scored the next eight points over the next three minutes, and the Cougars (6-12, 4-7) would get no closer than five the rest of the way.
Evans added three assists and five rebounds for Caldwell.
Tre Powell led all scorers with 32 for the Lightning.
Caldwell returns home to take on league leader Felician on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
