Melvin Evans (Bronx, N.Y.) dropped a career high 30 points on 9-14 shooting and 12 free throws made as men's basketball (5-10, 3-5 CACC) came up short against the Jefferson Rams (9-5, 5-2 CACC) 84-82 at the Newman Center.
Senior forward
DeAngelo Horn (Detroit, Mich.) scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.
Caldwell erased a 46-34 halftime deficit early in the second half.Â
Both teams traded blows in the second half with Jefferson emerging victorious on a lob play with 1.3 seconds left in a tie game.
Freshman forward
Terence Thompson (Rochester, N.Y.) and junior guard
Isaiah Philbert (Bronx, N.Y.) finished in double figures as well with 10 points each.
