HOLMDEL, N.J. -- Freshman
Lizbeth Castillo (West New York, N.J.) and junior
Dayanara Grau (Union City, N.J.) were the top two Caldwell finishers as the Cougars women's cross country team opened its 2025 season with a seventh-place finish at the Stevens 'Back to the Bowl' Invitational at Holmdel Park on Saturday morning.
Castillo finished 18th overall at 22:13.4 in her first collegiate action. Grau was next in 37th at 25:09.06.
Other Cougar finishers were freshman
Ashley Mercado (Franklin Square, N.Y.) at 48th in 27:46.4; senior
Isabella Pollock (Fair Lawn, N.J.) at 55th in 29:46.8, freshmen
Sarahi Liger (Kearny, N.J.) at 66th in 33:01.7 and
Heather Obote (Pikesville, Md.) in 68th at 34:43.7.
Wagner's Angela Cavalieri won the race in 20:13.7.
