CALDWELL, N.J. -- Senior GK
Ariana Gaminara (Las Vegas) slapped aside a penalty kick attempt by Chestnut Hill's Lauren Sullivan in the 60th minute, preserving the lead as Caldwell women's soccer went on to a gritty 1-0 CACC triumph in a battle of league unbeatens at Caldwell Athletic Field on Saturday.
The Cougars (5-0-1, 4-0) won their fourth straight game, all in CACC play, continuing the best start in program history.Â
Senior forward
Rosio Cardenas (Forked River, N.J.) put the Cougars up, 1-0, less than two minutes into the second half when she redirected a loose ball into the net following a corner kick by sophomore midfielder

Gaminara was brilliant in net, registering seven saves including the sprawling stop on the PK. Cougars defenders soph
Maria Frazier (Austin, Texas), junior
Lea Masching (Salzburg, Austria), freshman
Shelby Brunotte (Brick Township, N.J.) and soph
Ayla Fraser (Passaic, N.J.) all played the full 90 minutes in producing the shutout.
Ellie Strats made five saves in a losing effort for Chestnut Hill (2-5-1, 2-1 CACC).
The Cougars step out of conference play for a matchup with one of the region's top squads in Adelphi in Garden City, N.Y. on Tuesday.
