WILMINGTON, DE -- The sophomore forward duo of
Valerie Monge (North Plainfield, N.J.) and
Ana Pinzon (Medellin, Colombia) and senior forward
Taina Gervais (Port au-Prince, Haiti) all scored a goal to send Caldwell (4-0-1, 3-0-0 CACC) past the Goldey-Beacom Lightning (0-6-0, 0-3-0 CACC) 3-0 at NCS Field.
Monge's goal was her first of the season and came in the 16th minute. It ended up being the game-winner.Â
Sophomore midfielder
Melissa Pires (Elizabeth, N.J.) assisted on Monge's and Gervais's goals. Her two assists were a season-high.
The Cougars dominated the Lightning all game long, out shooting them by a 17-2 total shot margin. CU also had a 9-0 shots on goal advantage.
Senior goalkeeper
Ariana Gaminara (Las Vegas, Nev.) did not even have to make a save to earn her third shutout of the season.
Caldwell will return home for another CACC bout against the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights in a Bilingual Broadcast edition on Wednesday at 4 PM.
