Volleyball Falls in Five-Set Thriller to Bowie State, Swept by Host Kutztown

Enabosi totals 22 kills, Gatz 18 in two matches

KUTZTOWN, Pa. -- Junior outside hitter Andrea Enabosi (Piscataway, N.J.) and freshman right side hitter Meredith Gatz (Millis, Mass.) had team season-highs of 15 kills each, senior setter Jordan Mack (Yorba Linda, Calif.) had a season-best 23 assists and junior libero/DS Ava Railton recorded 16 digs as Caldwell University volleyball dropped a thrilling five-set match to Bowie State at the Shannon Sullivan Memorial Tournament at Keystone Arena in their first of two matches on Saturday. The Cougars (0-6) dropped the second, 3-0, to host Kutztown.

Against BSU (1-6), the Cougars dropped a tight first set before winning sets two and three, with kills by freshman hitter Marley Rudolph (Hampstead, Md.) closing out both of the winning sets. But the Bulldogs came back to win set four and after a Rudolph kill tied the decisive fifth set at 11-11, BSU scored four of the last four points to finish off the win, 15-12.

Nicole Taylor's 10 kills led the Bulldogs.

Against Kutztown, Enabosi again led the way with seven kills and senior Wyette Schubert-Brown (Chatsworth, N.J.) had six to go with a team-best seven digs.

With 36 assists in the two matches, Mack also passed the 500-assist mark in her two-plus years at CU.

The Cougars next host Queens on Tuesday at 7 p.m., then open CACC play vs. Post on Wednesday at 7.
