Pinkham Nets Career-Best Five, Men's Lacrosse Battles But Falls To CACC Leader Georgian Court

Himmel-Maines Makes 14 Stops, Johnson Collects Two Assists

CALDWELL, N.J. -- Freshman midfielder Conor Pinkham (Fair Lawn, N.J.) had a season-best five goals and senior midfielder Peter Johnson (Cedar Grove, N.J.) had two assists as Caldwell men's lacrosse put together one of its finest efforts of the season before succumbing to CACC leader Georgian Court, 12-7, at Kiwanis Oval on a blustery and sometimes rainy Saturday afternoon.

Pinhkam's goals with 7:53 and 5:41 left in regulation pulled Caldwell to win 9-7. GCU (8-5, 5-0 CACC) would score the next three goals for the final margin, despite the strong effort of the Caldwell defense, led by senior defender Owen Tarnowski (Roxbury, N.J.), who had four caused turnovers and four ground balls, and soph defender James McCarthy (Middletown, N.J.), who gobbled up a team-best six grounders.

Junior GK Edwin Himmel-Maines (Delta, Pa.) was strong in net, recording 14 saves including several from point-blank range.

The Cougars (0-9. 0-5) look to build on this performance when they host Chestnut Hill on Saturday at noon at Kiwanis Oval.
