Jessica George (South Brunswick, N.J.) scored three goals and junior netminder
Sarahkate Schneider (Somerset, N.J.) recorded 15 saves in goal, as Caldwell women's lacrosse fell in its CACC opener, 19-4, to Holy Family (1-3, 1-0 CACC) at Kiwanis Oval on Sunday.
The Cougars (0-3, 0-1 CACC) scored two straight goals in the second, with George scoring a player0-up marker on a feed from sophomore midfielder
Tiana Cipot (North Brunswick, N.J.) with 11:08 to play, then just over a minute later tallying on an assist by graduate midfielder
Janea Kelty (West Milford, N.J.) to cut their deficit to 6-2.
Freshman midfielder
Gloria Carpenter (Los Angeles) scored an unassisted goal in the third before George completed the hat trick midway through the fourth for the Cougars' final marker.
Schneider matched her season high with the 15 stops. George and Schneider had a team-best three ground balls and George also recorded two caused turnovers and grabbed three draw controls, both team-highs.
Caldwell next visits AIC on Tuesday at 3 p.m., in a makeup contest from an earlier weather postponement, and returns home Saturday at 10 a.m. vs. CACC rival Dominican.
