LAFAYETTE HILL -- Freshman midfielder
Gloria Carpenter (Los Angeles, Calif.) led CU (0-8, 0-4 CACC) with a goal and their only assist of the game in a 5-4 loss to the Chestnut Hill Griffins (2-3, 2-1 CACC) at Victory Field.
It was Carpenter's sixth goal and fifth assist of the season. Junior midfielder
Meghan Korzevinski (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder
Tiana Cipot (North Brunswick, N.J.), and graduate student midfielder
Janea Kelty (West Milford, N.J.) scored the Cougars' other three goals. Korzevinski and Cipot both notched their eleventh goals while Kelty buried her third goal.
Caldwell and Chestnut Hill traded goals twice between the first two periods to have the score knotted at 2. Korzevinski and Cipot scored Caldwell's first two goals.
CHC would go on a flurry and score three straight from the end of the second period and the middle of the third to put the Griffins up 5-2. This stretch turned out to be the difference in the match.
Carpenter and Kelty did their best to bring the Cougars back as they brought them to within a goal. Carpenter's goal came on a man-up advantage.
Junior goalkeeper
Sarahkate Schneider (Somerset, N.J.) made eight saves in the hard-luck loss.
Caldwell will travel to Waterbury, CT and face the Post Eagles in another CACC matchup on Tuesday at 2:00 PM.
