NEW HAVEN, CONN -- Freshman midfielder
Jessica George (South Brunswick, N.J.) recorded her third hat trick of the season as the Cougars (0-7) fell to the Southern Connecticut State Owls (6-3) 27-4 at Jess Dow Field.
George scored her team-leading 12th, 13th, and 14th goals. Sophomore midfielder
Tiana Cipot (North Brunswick, N.J.) had Caldwell's only assist of the day on George's first goal. It was Cipot's 7th assist.
Junior midfielder
Meghan Korzevinski (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) tallied her 10th goal this year.
The Owls got out to a 6-0 lead early in the 1st quarter and did not look back.
The junior goalkeeper duo of
Sarahkate Schneider (Somerset, N.J.) and
Serena Barra (Cranford, N.J.) made 11 saves combined. Schneider saved seven and Barra kept four out of the net.
Caldwell will travel to Philadelphia and face Chestnut Hill College in the first of a three game stretch against CACC opponents on Saturday at noon.
