Meghan Korzevinski (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) tallied a season-best four goals and sophomore midfielder
Tiana Cipot (North Brunswick, N.J.) added two as Caldwell women's lacrosse fell to Georgian Court, 25-7, at Kiwanis Oval on a windy Saturday afternoon.
Trailing, 5-1, Caldwell battled back late in the first quarter, goals by Korzevinski and Cipot narrowing the deficit to two goals, and later a tally by freshman midfielder
Jessica George (South Brunswick, N.J.) trimmed a four-goal deficit to 7-4 with 8:23 left in the second.Â
After the teams traded markers, GCU closed the half on a 6-1 run, then scored all seven of the third quarter goals for an insurmountable lead.
Cipot added two assists, helping on two Korzevinski markers, while the junior returned the favor by feeding Cipot on her man-up tally with 5:01 left in the fourth to close the Cougars' scoring.
