McKenzie Nazionale (Ontario, Calif.) laced two as Caldwell softball fell in a doubleheader at Rollins, 2-0 and 9-1 at MLK Park on Tuesday afternoon.
In the opener, senior
Jayden Hill (Geneva, N.Y.) pitched brilliantly, allowing just six hits over six innings in the complete-game effort.Â
In the nightcap, the Cougars (0-7) got on the board in the third when Nazionale hit a one-out double to right center and scored one out later on Martin's double to right.
Freshman 3B
Lindsay Oller (South Plainfield, N.J.) also had two hits in game two for Caldwell.
The Cougars make the trip to Florida's Gulf Coast to take on Tampa on Wednesday to conclude its Sunshine State visit. Caldwell opens CACC play at Goldey-Beacom on Saturday, before Sunday's home opener vs. Assumption at Caldwell Athletic Field on Sunday.
