Devon Cass (New City, N.Y.) co-led the Cougars with two hits as Caldwell baseball (6-2) fell in a loss to the #9 ranked East Stroudsburg Warriors (12-2) 24-3 at Creekview Park on Tuesday afternoon.
The senior trio of Lombardi, first baseman
Oscar Fajardo (Brentwood, N.Y.), and left fielder
Sean Brown (West Orange, N.J.) all knocked in RBIs on singles.
Caldwell struck first for a 2-0 lead after Lombardi and Fajardo delivered with men on base in the first two innings. Brown's RBI hit came in the top of the 6th when he drove in Lombardi.
East Stroudsburg showed why they are one of the top Division II teams in the nation as they dominated from start to finish.
CU will look to bounce back and start a new winning streak when they start CACC play against the Bridgeport Purple Knights in a doubleheader starting Saturday at 2:30 PM.
