CALDWELL, N.J. -- Sophomore guard
Jah'Nel Lewis (Jersey City, N.J.) scored a season-high 27 points to lead women's basketball (15-12, 9-6 CACC) past the Wilmington Wildcats (1-26, 0-15 CACC) 82-58 at the Newman Center on Tuesday.
With the win, Caldwell clinches the #2 North seed in the CACC Tournament and will host #3 South Chestnut Hill at the Newman Center next Tuesday, March 4, at 6 p.m.
Junior forward
Lucy Coogan (Kilkenny, Ireland) put up 16 points and had six rebounds with three assists. Coogan made a team-high three triples.
The Cougars took care of business, forcing 24 turnovers from the Wildcats.
Caldwell's largest lead was a massive 36-point advantage (70-34) at the 2:42 minute of the 3rd quarter. Caldwell was able to empty its bench for the fourth quarter, with reserves seeing plenty of action.
Sophomore forward
Nia Clemons (No. Plainfield, N.J.) scored in double figures for the second time this season with 10 points. She had a season-high three steals.
Sophomore guard
Brooke Corbett (Staten Island, N.Y.) led Caldwell with five steals.
Caldwell will close out the regular season against Bloomfield College on Senior Day this Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Newman Center. Graduate forward
Sophia DeMauro (New York) will be the Cougars' lone honoree.
