LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- Senior forward
Emilio Segovia (Mexico City) scored on a penalty kick in the 75th minute and the Caldwell men's soccer team kept the pressure up all day, but couldn't get the equalizer in a 2-1 CACC defeat at Georgian Court at GCU Track and Field Complex on Saturday.
Caldwell outshot the Lions, 21-4, in the game, putting six shots on goal to the two by GCU (3-4-3. 2-2 CACC), but both of the hosts' attempts on target found the back of the net, in the 37th and 64th minutes to earn the win.
Segovia had a team-best five shots, one on goal, while freshman defender
Pieter Hengeveld (Weert, Netherlands) and junior forward
Hakon Rake (Lommedalen, Norway) notched four each.
The Cougars (2-6-1, 1-3-1) next visit Molloy on Tuesday.
