CALDWELL, N.J. — Senior hitter Wyette Schubert-Brown (Chatsworth, N.J.) had a game-high 22 kills and senior setter Jordan Mack (Yorba Linda, Calif.) flipped 27 assists and recorded a season-best 19 digs as Caldwell volleyball fell to Felician in four competitive sets in a CACC matchup at the George R. Newman Center on Tuesday evening.
The Cougars had leads in both of the first two sets, but the Golden Falcons (7-14, 4-4 CACC) rallied to take them. Then in the third, the Cougars put it together, kills by Schubert-Brown and Mack capping a 12-4 run to start. Then, still ahead 18-11, the Cougars edged closer to gaining the set with a 4-1 run that included two Schubert-Brown put-always and an ace by senior DS Torrien Jones (Camp Springs, Md.). Then junior hitter Andrea Enabosi (Piscataway, N.J.) finished it off with two kills to get the Cougars to within a set at 2-1.
Caldwell fought on, but Felician took the final set to claim the match.
Enabosi finished with 10 kills, while the Cougars defense was also aided by junior libero Ava Railton (Santa Rose Beach, Fla.) with 14 digs, Schubert-Brown with 13 and sophomore DS Stephanie Ramos (Jackson, N.J.) with 10.
Sandra Galas had 20 kills to pace the Golden Falcons attack.
