CALDWELL, N.J. -- A 10-0 Bridgeport run midway through the second half gave the visiting Purple Knights a lead they wouldn't relinquish as they went on to a 75-68 triumph over Caldwell in CACC men's basketball action at the Newman Center on Tuesday evening.
The Cougars trailed, 35-30, at the half, but rallied to take the lead, 42-41 on a layup by junior guard
Kirk Parsons (Newark, N.J.) with 13:12 left in the second half. After UB (8-8, 3-2 CACC) regained the lead, a traditional three-pointer by junior guard
Melvin Evans (Bronx, N.Y.) gave Caldwell what would be its last lead at 48-47 with 11:39 to play.

Mark Heber (Paterson, N.J.) cut the Cougars' deficit to 60-53, UB went on a 7-0 run and maintained a double-digit lead until the closing moments.
Caldwell (10-5, 2-2) was paced by junior forward
DeAngelo Horn (Castle Rock, Colo.) with 14 points and eight rebounds, leading five Cougars in double figures in scoring. Evans tallied 13, while Philbert and Parsons contributed 11 and Heber 10.
Caldwell resumes CACC play at Holy Family on Saturday in Philadelphia.
