CALDWELL, N.J.  -- Junior forward Lucy Coogan (Kilkenny, Ireland) scored a game-high 15 points and had nine rebounds, propelling women's basketball (9-6, 3-1 CACC) to its second consecutive victory, a 52-44 triumph over Bridgeport (2-15, 2-3 CACC) at the Newman Center on Tuesday evening.

Sophomore guard Jah'Nel Lewis (Jersey City, N.J.) scored 12 points and made a team-high five free throws. Sophomore guard Brooke Corbett (Staten Island, N.Y.) filled up the stat sheet, as she scored six points, made five steals, had four assists and seven rebounds.

The first half was tightly contested until Caldwell built a double-digit lead (30-20) at the 5:06 minute mark of the second quarter.

CU extended their lead to 15 (44-29) on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by sophomore point guard Brianna Carey (Clifton Park, N.Y.) at the end of the third quarter.

Caldwell's defense would not allow Bridgeport to get any closer than eight points in the fourth quarter.

The Cougars will travel to Philadelphia to face the CACC-South leading Holy Family University Tigers, who are on a five game winning streak, on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
