COLCHESTER, Vt. -- Sophomore forward Theodore Hertzenberg (Lommedalen, Norway) notched his first career goal and freshman goalkeeper Jose De Oliveira Curado (Santiago do Cacém, Portugal) made three saves as Caldwell men's soccer fell in its season opener, 2-1, to Bentley at the NE10/CACC Challenge at Duffy Field.

The Cougars (0-1) matched the Falcons (1-0) shot for shot, with each team recording five first-half and eight second-half attempts at goal. Graduate forward Alex Spencer (Kingston, Jamaica) led the Cougars with four shots.

Hertzenberg's tally came in the 88th minute on a penalty kick.

Caldwell returns to action in game two of the Challenge on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. against host St. Michael's.
