RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Sophomore goalkeeper
Justin Talbot (Moorestown, N.J.) made five saves and junior midfielder
Ingebrigt Braenden scored the game's only goal in the 50th minute as Caldwell men's soccer took down 14th-ranked Felician, 1-0, in a CACC matchup at Tryon Field on Tuesday night.
On the winning play, sophomore forward
Frank Lozano (Cali, Colombia) beat the FU defender down the right sideline and crossed the ball past the keeper to Braenden, who settled and rattled it in from inside the box for his first goal of the season.
The Cougars defense, led by Talbot, made it stand up, continually turning away scoring chances by Felician (4-2, 0-1 CACC) while counterattacking. Caldwell (3-2-1, 2-0 CACC) had 10 shots to 11 by the hosts in the evenly played contest.
The Cougars continue league play on Saturday when they play host to Goldey-Beacom at 1:30 p.m. at Caldwell Athletic Field.
