CALDWELL, N.J. -- Sophomore forward
Theodore Hertzenberg (Lommedalen, Norway) broke a scoreless tie in the 42nd minute as Caldwell Men's Soccer (2-2-1, 1-0-0) shut out Holy Family University (1-4-1, 0-1-0) 2-0 at Caldwell Athletics Field. Junior midfielder
Ingebrigt Braenden (Trondheim, Norway) recorded his 4th assist of the season on Hertzenberg's goal to end the half.
Freshman midfielder
Haakon Rake (Lommedalen, Norway) scored his first goal of his career in the 87th minute on a perfect pass by sophomore defender
Jakub Cielak (Brzeznica, Poland). Rake's strike helped provide some breathing room for Caldwell. Cielak had deftly kept the ball in play on the left sideline, then snapped a pass to Rake who put it away.
Sophomore
Justin Talbot (Moorestown, N.J.) (nine saves in 90 minutes) made some excellent stops to keep Holy Family off the scoreboard. Caldwell had four more total shots than Holy Family (15-11).
The Cougars will take on Felician University in Rutherford, N.J. on Tuesday at 7 PM.
