Women's Soccer Falls To New Haven 1-0 In Hard Fought Contest

Gaminara makes two saves in game

WEST HAVEN, Conn. --  Junior Ariana Gaminara (Las Vegas, Nev) (two saves in 90 minutes) helped keep Caldwell Women's Soccer (2-2-1) in the game until New Haven (3-2-0) scored a late goal in the 87th minute at Kathy Zolad Stadium. It was a defensive struggle in this one as both teams had a tough time getting any momentum going.

Caldwell had a game-high 13 total shots and six of them were on goal. Freshman midfielder Melissa Pires (Elizabeth, N.J.) led the Cougars with four shots and two of them on goal.

Junior forward Rosio Cardenas (Forked River, N.J.) and senior forward Melissa Martinez (Elizabeth, N.J.) each contributed with a shot on net.

The Cougars will host Holy Family University in their first conference matchup of the season on Saturday at 11 AM.
