Datta Takes Second Straight Gold In 2024 With Osprey Open Triumph

Bests field of 189, nearl eight seconds ahead of next finisher

GALLOWAY, N.J. -- Senior Joey Datta (Edison, N.J.) claimed his second straight first place finish of the 2024 season while senior Alfredo Oidor (Garfield, N.J. was 37th as teh Caldwell men's cross country squad placed seventh of 20 teams at the Osprey Open hosted by Stockton University on Saturday.

Datta's 8K time of 25:03.18 was nearly eight seconds ahead of the next finisher. Oidor led another strong outing by Caldwell harriers, taking 37th (35 points) at 26:59.12.

Freshman Luke Molyneux (Ocean Township, N.J.) was third man for CU at 27:48.04 (71st), followed closely by sophomore Logan Kudla (Bloomfield, N.J.) in 74th (27:58.62) and junior Chad Manning (Belleville, N.J.) in 82nd at 28:22.54.

189 competitors finished the race.

Caldwell next hosts the Cougar Chase Invite on Sept. 28 in Sayreville, N.J.
