UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Senior 1B Oscar Fajardo (Brentwood, N.Y.) had two hits, including his third home run of the season, and senior SS Vincent Vargas rapped two singles, as Caldwell baseball fell at Molloy in non-league action at Mitchel Field on Tuesday.

Fajardo's two-run circuit clout in the second put the Cougars (8-17) up early, 2-1. After Molloy (27-9) went ahead, 11-2, CU scored on an error and an RBI single by senior LF Noah Putney (Glassboro, N.J.). Later junior CF Liam Lombardi (Stony Point, N.Y.) and sophomore DH Christian Petino Jr. (Flemington, N.J.) drove in runs for the final margin.

CU opens a three-game CACC set with Post on Wednesday in Waterbury, with Saturday's doubleheader at Kiwanis Oval concluding the series.
