RINDGE, N.H. -- Freshman attack Owen Tarnowski (Morristown, N.J) scored four goals and senior midfielder Jayden Paladino (Hawthorne, N.J.) and soph attack Gavin Starr (Montgomery, N.Y.) had two each as Caldwell men's lacrosse opened its 2024 season with a 13-8 loss to Franklin Pierce at Sodexo Field.

Tarnoski netted the Cougars' first goal of the season, and first of his career, man-up 25 seconds into the second quarter. His second tally came moments after Starr had his first marker.

The Cougars closed the game with the final three goals, two by Paladino, for the final margin.

Senior goalkeeper Shane Murphy (Middletown, N.J.) made 14 stops in his first action in net since 2022. Murphy saw action in 10 games as a field player last year.
